International Awareness and Development
Mission Statement: To promote and enhance global citizenship within our sisterhood, by broadening the knowledge and understanding of other nations, increasing interest in international affairs and developing a greater appreciation for different backgrounds and cultures
The Cerritos Area Alumnae Chapter has provided financial and material support to the Eternal World Christian Schools International Ministries for the past 20 years for the development and maintenance of its school. Located in Nekede, Imo State, Nigeria we are proud that our partnership has resulted in serving the school as it has grown from fewer than 12 students to serving over 900 children from various West African communities each year. The Sorority fulfills this mission by creating and sustaining an International Awareness Initiative – IAI Projects.
Our current IAI Projects are as follows;
- Adelaide Tambo School – Soweto, South Africa
- Delta House/Vashti Village – Swaziland, South Africa
- DST School/CB McIntyre Campus – Haiti
- Mary Help of the Sick Hospital – Kenya
- TREE/Training Resources for Early Education – Durban, South Africa
- Water Tanks/Supplies & Scholarships – Kenya
